Much too often, people will go to their shower stalls, clean themselves, and get right out. Even if time is an issue, taking a shower should be more than just a regular thoughtless humdrum routine. The shower is underestimated for its abilities to relax and draw you out of your stressful daze. Sometimes, the issue isn't so much about not being able to take a break but about the surroundings and environment.
If your shower is old and unattractive, you will be less inclined to want to take a long shower because if anything, the gawdy aesthetics or broken facade hurts your eyes. Sometimes, people end up taking quick showers not because they want to save water but because their shower stall is just unbearingly ugly. If you belong to this unfortunate group of people, you may not be so unfortunate afterall. There are easy and inexpensive ways to amend this.
One simple step you can take is by adding water-proof shower curtains. Choose your theme and run with it. If sunflowers make you happy, then dress your shower up to look like a dandy sunflower. If you like the color combinations of black and white, then pick out some sleek curtains with a black and white design. You can also have an easy upgrade by simply installing a shower column. Whatever floats your jolly boat. Of course, you still have the problem of your dilapidated shower stall. If you absolutely cannot--I mean the "hit me for pennies and see if any come out" kind of cannot--renovate your shower, than perhaps you can consider refinishing it. This less pricey alternative to completely removing your old dirty shower makes sense for those on a budget. Especially if it's not the intolerable kind of dirty, your shower stall can benefit a great deal from a good brushing up. That's essentially what refinishing does to your shower stall: brushes it up. Repair those nicks and clean those unsightly mildew growths. You'd be amazed at the results. If you have acrylic shower stalls, then cleaning is made simple due to the non-pourous acrylic surface.
In addition to the more heavy duty concerns, you can add minor but still effective embellishments that you can find at places like Bed, Bath and Beyond. Yes, they are going out of business but that only means that their goods will be marked down a ridiculous amount! Purchase items like shower racks where you can hold and organize all of your shampoo and body wash in. You can even plaster up decals, if you're into that kind of thing. You will see that you have the ability to make a world of a difference if you just put some love into your shower stalls.
